For you regular readers (thanks, your all appreciated), you may have seen that I took part in a Parkour photoshoot organised by Canon UK. Canon were working with Manfrotto and GTechnology for the event and they had a little prize for what they described as "the best photos taken on the day". Well I don't know about that, as there were some very talented photographers there on the day, but some how I was chosen as the winner.
You may have seen the first prize if you follow me on twitter/instagram (@WLennonPhoto), a portable thunderbolt HDD, one that is ideally suited to location shooting as its shock/dust/wayne/water-proof.
Ill be using this drive for my next few location shoots to test it out, but the first test was to check that waterproofing claim.... it passed.
The drive is housed inside a waterproof housing that has the thunderbolt cable built right in, this stops any water sneaking in past the rubber seals onto the electronics. With 1TB of storage and the fast thunderbolt connection it looks to be a longterm addition to my location shooting kit.
The second part of the package is a Manfrotto Offroad 20L backpack with camera compartment, Ive checked the fitment of kit and its going to be a tight squeeze for my 1Dx but the 5Diii should be fine with a small lens. This will come in handy for one of my snowboarding trips, with enough room in the top of the bag to fit another jacket, goggles and all those little extras that are needed on the mountain.
Thanks again to Canon, GTech and Manfrotto.
